Feelin' Hot Hot Hot

So it is still freakin' hot here. The locals are saying how unusual the weather is and that it shouldn't be this hot. Bleh. And don't give me that " it is just as hot here, stop whining" speech because each and every one of you has access to some form of air conditioning. To get it here, you have to look inconspicous in the frozen food aisle: " why yes, this is a good deal on frozen fish sticks. Let me just hold it to my neck to make sure it is the brand I like." It doesn't help that we have lab for 3 hours a day in a room full of computers. Anyway, we went to the Bristol Industrial Museum today and looked at airplane engines. This building had no AC so we were all sweating bullets as we heard about how they switched to a more compact design as well as 18 cylinders for the 1953 model. Bristol, and England as a whole, used to be really big in the aeroplane industry. Anyway, it was mildly amusing. Oh, last night Chris, Cati, Caroline and I played rummy. I won and I got to show off my one-hand card cut. YIPPEE!

We are going to London this weekend. Don't worry, I will be fine. It is probably safer (more safe?) now than before the bombings. Besides, how can I go to England and not see Big Ben? I am excited about going. I think it will be fun.

We have almost finished our first assembly in I-DEAS ( CAD program we are using) I miss AutoCAD. I-DEAS is much more of a pain in the ass.

Anyway, adios for now.

Apparently they've made some arrests in that whole affair. It seems it's fairly easy to catch criminals in a city that is totally and completely under constant video surveillance.

Go figure.

And, ahem, how come you never showed me your "one hand cut"?

The one hand cut was taught to her by the most famous one hand cut person in the world. OK maybe not THE most famous, but certainly one of the most talented. Well OK that may be a stretch too. How 'bout I just tell you that I taught her that trick and ain't I proud!!!!

Sounds Like you are having fun across the pond. Enjoy England.

Love

Must be a family thing, cause her beautiful, talented aunt can do the one handed card trick too! (My old decrepit sister taught me). I discovered in Cancun that Air Conditioning is not the same in all countries. Neither is refrigeration! After sweltering all day in Cancun, I broke down and bought the fridge (you have to purchase ALL the contents not just the bottle of water you want). I was looking forward to a nice cold bottle of water only to find it lukewarm! Oh Well. Just don't make your aunt Cindy's mistake....she once went to the grocery store without a bra....the trip through frozen foods was quite "nipply" as well as amusing!

Arnold, I am sure you've seen the one-handed card cut. I do it almost every time I shuffle a deck of cards. Maybe you just weren't paying attention. Or maybe we were always playing Dalmuti and I wasn't allowed to do the one-handed cut. Anyway, I'll show it to you when I get back.

Sonya, I don't go anywhere without a bra on. It would be hazardous to my back. But thank you for the oh-so-lovely visual of Aunt Cindy.

And yes, my wonderful mom did teach me how do it. I have tried to teach a few others over the years, but they always get frustrated and give up.

They made arrests I think, but I heard that at least some of the people involved were suicide bombers.

So, it's 1:50 AM and I am laughing, because I just imagined Beth in a frozen food aisle holding several boxes of fish sticks, and sweating profusely, and fanning herself with the fish sticks, and saying "My, what lovely fish sticks."
