Behold the cuteness...
I had trouble with googlepages, so the layout is a bit off, but I posted my favorite pictures from Layne's baptism weekend here. I posted all of the pictures I took here. There were just too many to put on a google page.
In other news, we drove up to Greenville to see Avenue Q last weekend. The entire weekend was awesome. We got to see a bunch of friends that we don't get to see very often. We literally had people com from every direction to Greenville to see this play. The play itself was so many shades of awesome that it ventured into Octarine territory. I think it was only made more awesome by the fact that we saw a matinee show and the audience was full of blue hairs (or no-hairs as the case may be) who most likely had season tickets and no idea what they were getting into. Avenue Q, in over simplified terms, is like Sesame Street for adults, or as Arnold put it "Rent meets Sesame Street". There is a closeted gay republican, a monster who does nothing but search for porn on the internet, a recent college grad with no direction in life (he has a a B.A. in English) and a whole host of other characters all played with puppets who spontaneously break out in song.
After the play we had fun hanging out at an Irish pub where the service was horrible but the food was great. After dinner the friends who came from Columbia had to leave. The rest of us took a group field trip to the Barnes and Noble because Hillary had a discount coupon that expired the next day. This was far more fun than it sounds. Yes, I am a geek. What's your point?
We checked into the hotel with the fun still raging. Krispy Kreme was right across the street and the "HOT DOUGHNUT" light beckoned, so we all walked to the Krispy Kreme at 10:00 PM. Sugar highs and card games followed. We all concluded that we are getting old when we were all tired at 11:00. We managed to stay up and "shoot the shit" for another hour and a half.
We topped it all off with lunch at Don Pablo's and a trip to the game store before we left on Sunday.
All and all I couldn't think of a thing to make the trip better other than possibly more time with the Cola peeps.
Oh, and if you are really nice to me, I might tell you the discussion we had about getting me into and out of a size medium Avenue Q shirt that the vendor said "would stretch".
