Time, or rather the lack of it

I realize that if I want people to read this thing I actually have to update. I also realize that it is the end of a semester and I will somewhat resemble a chicken sans cranium for the next 2.5 weeks. So when I finish the semester, find the head, and reattached it to the chicken, I'll write all about Harry Potter and Thanksgiving etc. Unless I get bored studying for exams, then there might be an update sooner than the week before Christmas. The funny thing is, given my holiday schedule, I'll still be running around a lot. I'll just enjoy it because I will not be tested on the amount of shear stress scotch tape causes when applied to wrapping paper.

I see ye won first prize

Arnold, Jeromie, Liz and I went to the "Highland Games" this weekend. There was traditional Scottish food, traditional Scottish and Irish music and dancing, and physical competitions with men in kilts. They were performing small feats like throwing a 56 lb weight 14 ft over their heads. The women's games were things like throwing haggis and brooms. One lady even hit the audience. It was a very good time indeed. The most amusing part was the Bonnie Knees competition where women were blindfolded and had to judge kilted men's knees with their hands. Oh and "anything below the waist" was the official definition of the knee. We even saw llamas. The only problem was that I forgot to check my camera batteries before we left, and they were beyond dead, so I have no pictures. Maybe if I am really nice to Jeromie and Liz, they'll let me snarf some of theirs.
