Introducing Layne Riley Marks

Clockwise starting with the cutest baby that ever lived: Layne, Me, Mom, New Grandma Chrys and new Mom Crystal.

I was on travel for work this week in Orlando. I had planned to visit Mom while I was there. Mom and I have a 100 mile radius rule. If we are within 100 miles of each other, then we have to at least have dinner. Since I was in Orlando for work all week, I was able to spend the weekend with Mom in Tampa. It just so happened that this was the weekend Aunt Cindy was going to visit Mom, so I got a bonus relative with my trip. We had a hell of a lot of fun.

The fun started with a trip to the Melting Pot. I had planned this when I found out that my best friend Crystal was pregnant. I wanted to celebrate with Mom, Chrys, and Crystal. She was due May 29th, so I thought it was perfect that I would be there the weekend before to celebrate. Well, the little bugger came early. Layne Riley Marks was born on May 4th. So when I showed up on Friday, he was almost three weeks old. I thought this might nix the Melting Pot plans but I really didn't care since Crystal and the baby where both fine and this meant that I actually got to see the baby before Christmas. Crystal said she still wanted to go so we ended up at the Melting Pot with the baby. I called the Melting Pot before we went and said that I had to change the reservation from 5 people to 5.5. They gave us our own little room and we put the baby in a sling thing that held his car seat.

The baby was named after me by the way. Layne is my middle name. It is most likely because Crystal just though the name was cool, which it is. But she was nice enough say it was after me.

We had a fantastic time at the Melting Pot and the whole weekend really. Mom, Aunt Cindy, and I went to Tarpon Springs, took a boat tour of the Sponge Docks, and just "shot the shit" and had a wonderful time. The only bad part was the bug bites we got from eating Breakfast and Dinner out on Mom's deck.

Oh, and to top it all off I came back to Chucktown Sunday and Arnold and I went to Kids in the Hall. That, too, was awesome.
