Playing Catch-Up

So yet again I failed to post for a while. And yet again I promise that I will try and keep this this more up to date.

A picture of the Wii-mote cake I made for Roger's Wii Party can be found on his blog here. The reference photo I used was apparently a "prototype"so the details are incorrect, but the over all cake turned out pretty well. I made my own "marshmallow" fondant from a recipe I found on the internet. For those who have not had normal fondant, it tastes like crap. Well I have never actually tasted crap, but normal fondant has a disgusting taste. The only real problem was that since the Wii-motes are so small, even the exaggerated cake version didn't provided much cake to go with the really sweet fondant.

We moved this weekend from a one bedroom to a three bedroom. All of those people who were so kind to help us can confirm that , yes, two people do need three bedrooms. Thanks to all who knew that Arnold owned an 830 lb Arcade cabinet and were still willing to help. We are still in the unpacking phase. I am just lazy and Arnold has had a hella sore throat and some sort of chest congestion since the day we moved.

Oh, and I went to California last week for a PDC intern conference. I went by myself because I was unaware that there are like 10 other PDC interns here in Charleston. They flew out earlier than I did, toured Grauman's Chinese Theater and got to go see the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I was quite jealous. But I did get home 7 hours before they did (they didn't get back to SC until midnight). And I had complete control over driving, which was a good and a bad thing. I got to stop wherever I wanted, but I had to navigate from Los Angeles to Oxnard and back by myself. The only stressful part was trying to find the car rental return place at 4:30 in the morning so that I could make my flight.

So a "quick" update has turned into a kind of long one. Oops. Maybe for my next post I'll only post pictures to make up for it.
