We named the monkey Jack...

I went to Arnold's this weekend and had a blast (as usual). We ( Arnold, Dave, Shawn, Laura, Roger, and I) dressed up in pirate gear and went down to the Charleston Pier to take pictures playing Plunder for a photo contest. Plunder is a pirate game, if you happen to be unable to put 2 and 2 together, or if you are able to but get 6. It was too windy to play outside, so we took some pics and went to Dave's office to play. Arnold won, but quite a few people were close. I apparently lost brain function and forgot my camera, but Dave took some great pictures that can be seen here . I think the most amusing part was the random people at the Pier who wanted to take our picture. One lady even gave me a high five. We even went to eat in our costumes. It was quite fun.

what's an inch... or 10 between friends

So I got a hair cut today. I wanted 5-6 inches taken off because, frankly, it was getting ridiculous. I loved the length, but it was getting tangled and very stringy. I told the lady I wanted 5-6 in taken off. After my hair was wet, she poked me in the back and asked if that length was ok. I am a moron and said yes, not remembering that my hair is much shorter when dry. The she cut more off than she said she would. Then she attempted to blow dry my hair, which is always a bad idea. She poked me in the eye twice without apologizing, possibly thinking that if she didn't say anything I would not notice her finger in my eye. My hair is 3-5 inches shorter than I wanted, but it does look ok. ...and it will always grow back. And maybe a black shirt wasn't the best idea for the picture.

Argh!

Arnold's mum Patti flew us up for the Ohio renfest for our b-days. It was pirate weekend at the fest. I made a costume just for the occassion. Danny dressed as Captain Morgan. He and Arnold went around the fest "speakin' pirate." Patti and Michael went too. A fun time was had by all. We saw acts we had never seen before and even attended a Pub Sing. I bought a pirate hat to go with my costume. Afterward we had dinner at Don Pablo's (yum!). When we got back, we watched Wallis and Gromit, which was freakin' hysterical. And we had busken birthday cake (yum yum!).

As mentioned before, Arnold, Dave, and I went to Dragon Con and had an absolute blast. Here are a few pics. There is even one of me and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and a couple of us fooling around on the Conan throne.

Johnny, Johnny Everywhere...

DragonCon was awesome. I swear the ticket price was worth it just to see all of the costumes. Some people really put time and money into those things. The Johnny Depp Characters of Willy Wonka and Captain Jack Sparrow were really popular. There was even a couple that had exact costumes so that it looked like Willy Wonka and Willy Wonka's mini me. There were huge costumes and ...uh... very tiny costumes ( scantily clad women and men). I went to a few panels and lectures. Arnold and I even went to a Spamalot panel. We got to game a bit with Dave, who got us an awesome suite hotel room. I met the homestarrunner peeps. I even got Peter Mayhew ( Chewbacca)'s auto graph. I even made it back in time for class on Monday. Other than Arnold being a bit under the weather, it was a totally awesome experience.

Back to the Grind

School is now in full swing which should make the next two weeks interesting as I will be out of the state for the next two weekends. This weekend is DragonCon in Atalanta and next weekend is Cincinnati for the Renfest. Both should be most enjoyable. I just need to get a million things done before I leave on Friday.
